In this accelerated course you will learn in 7 weeks how to conduct short conversations with Dutch speaking people. You will also be taught how to make a negative sentence and you will practice telling a short story in the past tense. You will be introduced to prepositions of place and how to ask people for clarification if you do not understand something. You will learn how to make more complex sentences with the help of conjunctions. Expanding your vocabulary and applying basic grammar are an essential part of the curriculum.

For whom: Students who have completed the 'Accelerated Dutch Basic 1' class or otherwise have obtained CEFR level A1 and wish to increase their understanding of Dutch to CEFR level A2 in a quick manner.

Result after the course: In the follow-up course you will learn to write, read, speak and listen at ERK level A2. In only 7 weeks you will learn to talk with Dutch speakers about e.g. your work or education. Your vocabulary and grammatical knowledge will be extended so that it will be much easier to express yourself in different social contexts using a series of commonly used phrases. Your pronunciation, including that of words such as "Scheveningen", will be much more natural. In addition, you will be able to write short notes, create shopping lists and write understandable to-do lists.

Frequency, duration, day and time:  Twice a week during 7 weeks. The first lesson is in the week of 6 May unless noted otherwise. You can choose one of these groups:
