TaalTaal offers quality French courses on several levels. Our groups are small and dynamic, so you will have lots of personal attention and guidance.

The new season starts in the week of January 31st for physical lessons and consists of 11 lessons of 90 minutes. Online lessons have begun on January 17th.

French Level 1 (A0+)

For whom:  French 1 is the first part of the basic course (CEFR A1 level). The complete A1 level consists of 3 parts.

Result after the course:  During this course, we will start studying the French Language by immediately paying a lot of attention to the pronunciation of French words. You will also learn how to greet someone and how to say goodbye. In addition, you will learn how to say your name, where you live and how you are doing. What else will be discussed? Numerals, verb forms connected to the regular verbs ending in -er, some irregular verbs, sentences in the negative form and different ways of asking a question in French. At the end of this course, you will be able to talk about yourself, and understand and answer simple questions.

French Level 2 (A0-A1)

Result after the course:  In this course we will go shopping and discuss du, de la, de l' and des. Themes that will be discussed include: ordering something in a restaurant, your own eating habits, clothing, colors and telling the time. Which grammar will be examined in French 2? The indicative pronoun, question sentences involving question words, verbs ending in -ir and some new irregular verbs. After this course you will be able say what time it is, what you like to eat and drink, what kind of groceries you need and what the price of a product is. You will also be capable of reading short texts and answer questions connected to these texts.

French Level 3 (A1)

Result after the course:  By now you will have built up a nice vocabulary and speaking French will start becoming easier for you to do. You will be able to talk about your hobbies and your plans for the future and read longer texts. In the course French 3, we will be talking about the weather, holidays and family. Furthermore, you will learn how to describe someone's appearance and character. We will converse about accepting and rejecting an invitation and how to say something in the Past Tense (passé composé) and Future Tense (futur proche). Other grammar subjects that will be covered are : the possessive pronoun, other forms of negative expressions and a few new irregular verbs will be introduced.

Description:  The goal of this course is to improve your spoken French at the level A1 to be able to converse in a more relaxed and pleasant manner with other French speakers. Description:  Accelerated French/EN 3 (B1.1) is aimed at students who prefer English as the language of instruction. It is the first part of the course during which one can achieve a B1 level. The complete CEFR B1 level consists of 2 parts, 7 weeks per part. The B1.1 level French course equips you with sufficient linguistic ability for understanding and responding appropriately in most day-to-day situations. Accelerated French/EN 6 (B2.2)

Description:  Accelerated French/EN 6 (B2.2) is the last part of 2 courses for achieving the CEFR B2 level. It is an advanced language course that aims at strengthening and consolidating comprehension and production of oral and written French. By the end of the course, students should be able speak the language with sufficient structural accuracy and vocabulary, so they can participate effectively in most conversations on practical, social, and professional topics; they can understand the essentials of speech in a standard dialect including technical discussions within a special field, reading within a normal range of speed with almost complete comprehension of a variety of authentic prose material about unfamiliar subjects.
