TaalTaal offers quality Chinese courses on several levels. Our groups are small and dynamic, so you will have lots of personal attention and guidance.

The new season starts in the week of 20 September 2021 and consists of 11 lessons of 90 minutes.

Course overview

Chinese (Mandarin) Level 1

week commencing 20 September

Result after the course:  During this course, you will learn the most basic spoken Mandarin phrase and vocabulary for daily life (e.g. greeting, self-introduction and express your needs at a very basic level ). You will also learn Pinyin, which helps you to have a proper “tones” in Mandarin. Meanwhile, you will get some knowledge of Chinese culture. You know more about Chinese culture and language. You know how and when to use the different tones, you can have short conversations in Chinese, and you can draw and read important Chinese characters.

Frequency, duration, day and time:  Once a week during 11 weeks: Monday between 20:00 and 21:30 hrs or Monday between 10:00 and 11:30 hrs ( start: week of 27 September) (ONLINE) or Wednesday between 17:00 and 18:30 hrs

Chinese (Mandarin) Level 13

week commencing 20 September

Description:  In this course we will deal with some important grammatical aspects of Chinese sentences: i.e. attributes, adverbials, complements of degree, equations, complements of results and complement of directions. We are also going to do a lot of exercises based on the above grammatical topics.

Frequency, duration, day and time:  Once a week during 11 weeks: Wednesday between 20:00 and 21:30 hrs (ONLINE)

Chinese (Mandarin) Level 5

week commencing 20 September

Description:  Themes covered in levels 5 to 9 include asking for directions, shopping, being sick and daily routines. Each lesson contains a dialogue, new words, linguistic and cultural information and exercises. The book concludes with a grammar section and glossaries. A grammar section has been added to the back of the book. Also audio fragments and new words have been added to the lessons. Each chapter contains a language guide with information about the Chinese language. Furthermore, there is extra practice material on the website. In this course (level 5) we teach 2 topics (Visiting and Calling), these two topics consist of 6 texts.

Intensive Chinese Course


Description: An intensive course is given privately (for 1 person) and consists of 15 contact hours divided over 1 or 2 weeks, for example 5 consecutive days of 3 hours each. The exact configuration can be discussed with the teacher for best possible results. Please do take into account time needed for self-study and homework.
