Welcome to the ICC mini-portal for the courses at TaalTaal!

You can choose between two options: the ICC-only program or the public program. The public program is always either online or at TaalTaal's location, it's open to the general public and offers more languages and levels.

ICC-only courses (lessons of 1.5 hours), which may potentially be given at ICC, but it's the full responsibility of the students to make any arrangements such as booking a room, registering the teacher as a visitor and taking into account all relevant security protocols.

The procedure is generally as follows:

  1. Determine your level: if you don't know your CEFR-level yet, you can get a free placement test
  2. Visit the course page: this gives more details about the book used and the groups that are scheduled.
  3. In case you qualify for a supplement, follow the procedure outlined in the Terms & Conditions linked on the ICC Staff Union languages intranet site.
  4. Choose a group and sign up: make sure to use the special ICC signup form to qualify for a discount. Also note that the ICC signup form does not ask details such as your address.

Some notes and tips:

We like to make sure you have a great experience and enjoy your lessons. Please feel free to contact us any time and we'll do our best to help you.

Here are some points to consider:

  • If the enrollment threshold for ICC-only classes isn't met, students may be offered an alternative such as joining a public class, but this is not mandatory.
  • In case you miss any lessons, you can arrange catch-up lessons in other groups that are running, e.g. an online class if you're not in the country.
  • As a backup, you're always entitled to catch up lessons in our public program for free: we guarantee that you'll get the number of hours you've paid for.
  • The teachers welcome student input, so if there are topics or exercises you find interesting, please share with the teacher.
  • Try to make using the language a daily habit. The teachers can give you advice on level-appropriate lighter content, including entertainment, music and activities.
