TaalTaal offers quality French courses on several levels. Our groups are small and dynamic, so you will have lots of personal attention and guidance.

The new season starts in the week of 22 January 2024 and consists of 11 lessons of 120 minutes.

It is possible to sign up for a course that is already running. Please take into account about 2.5 hours of self-study and homework next to the regular courses.

NOTE: if you prefer all instruction and lesson materials to be in English, you can sign up for the "French/EN" courses, which may be beneficial for beginner levels.

OK Starting September 2023, TaalTaal will offer an upgraded course program with regular lessons of 2 hours each so that you will make progress more quickly at a pace that's still comfortable. If you're an existing student and would like to learn which follow-up class is the best fit for you, please feel free to contact us.

Français Débutant 1 (A0-A1)

Description: During this course, we will start studying the French Language by immediately paying a lot of attention to the pronunciation of French words. You will also learn how to greet someone and how to say goodbye. In addition, you will learn how to say your name, where you live and how you are doing. What else will be discussed? Numerals, verb forms connected to the regular verbs ending in -er, some irregular verbs, sentences in the negative form and different ways of asking a question in French. At the end of this course, you will be able to talk about yourself, and understand and answer simple questions.

For whom: Beginners with no prior knowledge of French.

Français Débutant 2 (A1)

Description: In this course, we build your vocabulary to enable you to talk about a variety of subjects including your hobbies, plans and shopping. We will discuss the past tense (passé composé) and future tense (futur proche) as well as du, de la, de l' and des. Themes include ordering something in a restaurant, your own eating habits, clothing, colors and telling the time. After this course you will be able say what time it is, what you like to eat and drink, what kind of groceries you need and what the price of a product is. You will also be capable of reading short texts and answer questions connected to these texts. Other topics include the possessive pronoun, other forms of negative expressions and a few new irregular verbs.

For whom: Students who completed Français Débutant 1 or already have a CEFR level of A0-A1.

Result after the course: Your vocabulary is larger which makes it easier for you to start a conversation. You can write short letters and read articles, magazines and newspapers.

French Conversation A+ (A2+)

Description: This conversation class is suitable in combination with a regular class. You can also decide to follow the conversation course only. It is more focused on the vocabulary than grammar, but just enough to help you with sentence structures. A practical approach will be used to assist you in speaking correctly.

French Conversation B+

Result after the course: Like the Conversation A classes, the B version is very suitable for following in conjunction with a regular class. You can also take only the conversation class. There is a bit more emphasis on vocabulary and a little bit of grammar to make sure the sentence structures are all right. This is done from a practical approach.

Intensive French Course

Description: An intensive course is given privately (for 1 person) and consists of 15 contact hours divided over 1 or 2 weeks, for example 5 consecutive days of 3 hours each.
